Is Microblading Painful
How painful is Microblading?
This is a frequently asked question. You may already have done some research and know that microblading involves breaking the skin to insert pigment into the hairstroke cuts. Sounds painful but, how painful is it really? It might not be as bad as you imagine.
Beauty is pain they say.
You’ll be relieved to hear that it doesn’t have to be that way for everyone. Each client’s experience can differ. Some sleep though the treatment, while others need extended time for the numbing to take effect. At Bedroom Eyes by Sheila, we make it our priority to numb each client according to their need. We do everything in our power to minimize your pain during the procedure.
Compared to having a tattoo, microblading is much more tolerable. You may consider painkillers prior to your appointment but this really shouldn’t be needed. Most clients say they expected something much more painful than they experienced.
How bleeding impacts numbing.
Anything that will increase bleeding will also impact how you numb. As we preform microblading, we continue to add numbing gel that is absorbed into the broken skin. Any excessive bleeding not only can impact pigment retention, but also reduces numbing.
What to avoid prior to your appointment to improve numbing and pigment saturation.
Caffeine, alcohol, and nicotine should be avoided 48 hours prior and 24 hours after treatment. Avoid nutritional shakes (Shakeology, etc.), “Hair, Skin and Nail” supplements 48 hours prior to procedure. Avoid aspirin, ibuprofen, Advil, prenatal vitamins, Niacin, Vitamin E Fish oil, and any other related blood thinners (unless instructed by your physician).
